The summer has gone by so fast. It is already October and doesn’t feel like it at all. Between traveling to New York in June and California in August, setting up the apartment, visiting family, meeting new friends, seeing old friends, shooting weddings, work, school… it has been a fun couple of months.
While searching through old files, I came across these pictures from way, way back in July, just after I got home from New York. We had a friend stay with us, who was visiting the US from New Zealand. Chris and I both ended up getting sick. Which meant that our friend spent a lot of quality time on the couch, feverishly drinking OJ to avoid our plague. Great hosts, right? I think in the last 6 months, the most use we got out of our TV service is the week he stayed with us…
Anyway, the weird thing about this day was that it felt like fall… in July. I was able to wear tights… in July. The weather is just starting to cool down now. I’m not quite to tights and boots yet, but it is so, so close. I can’t wait.
Casual outfit, nothing fancy. Blurry pictures, courtesy of my (at the time) busted 50mm.
Dress – Land’s End, 3x
Cardigan – Second hand, 1x
Tights – We Love Colors, EE in black.
Flats – Clarks
The cardigan with embroidered whales? I couldn’t pass it up.
My summer was filled with great moments. Visiting family in California, FFFW in NYC, participating in NOLOSE, being there on my Mom’s birthday, connecting with friends in CA I couldn’t see before the move (miss you Sarah <3), taking steps towards being a wedding photographer or being at home with the guy I love... even when he pisses me off.
To get this space moving again… I’m going to start a new feature. Even in times where the blogging is sparse, I’m decent at taking pictures of what I wear. Or having Chris do it. ;)
Problem is… by time things slow down, I might forget the “story” behind the outfit and it never makes it up here. So, random outfits and the details I do remember will be accompanied by some kind of rambling. Rants, answers to questions I’ve received (feel free to e-mail and ask others) or whatever is on my mind. The idea still needs some work, but you’ve got to start somewhere.
Until then, crossing my fingers for grey days (like the one below), cool weather, cardigans and my beloved knee-high boots.
What was the highlight of your summer?

What a lovely dress! I especially like the color and cut.
Highlight of my summer was having a dip in the crystal clear Dalmatian sea in my neighbour country Croatia.
Greetings from plus size Europe (Slovenia)! :)

p.s. I love the US plus-size products you post about, we desperately need some over here as the world seems to be under the impression that every woman in Europe looks like a French model. :D
<3 <3 <3 the dress! What a cute cardigan; it pairs perfectly with your lovely dress. You look great. I love the way the outfit looks against your hair color.
The best part of my summer was meeting the woman I'm currently dating. It was also nice starting out in a new city and state; knowing that I can do pretty well on my own.
